Content Strategy
Make Your Content Work for You
Bosca isn't just a place to store files; it's a platform designed to make your content smarter and more organized. We do this through two main concepts: Metadata and Collections. Together, they transform your data into a powerful tool for your organization.
The Two Pillars of Bosca
1. Metadata: The Intelligence Behind Your Content
Metadata is what makes your content smart. It’s more than just a title or a date; it’s all the information that helps you find, understand, and use your assets. With Bosca, metadata helps you:
- Find things instantly: Search across all your content with incredible precision.
- Automate your work: Let your content trigger its own workflows based on its attributes.
- Get AI-powered insights: Automatically generate summaries, translations, and tags so you don't have to.
2. Collections: Your Content, Perfectly Organized
Collections are how you group your content to make it accessible and relevant. Whether you're organizing by project, department, or audience, Collections give you the flexibility you need. With Collections, you can:
- Create Order: Group related items into logical sets that are easy for your team to navigate.
- Personalize the Experience: Show different content to different users based on what they need most.
- Scale with Ease: Manage thousands of items without ever losing track of where things are.
By combining the intelligence of Metadata with the organization of Collections, Bosca turns your content into a strategic advantage.
Supporting Concepts
Beyond Metadata and Collections, Bosca provides several supporting systems that enrich your content strategy:
Categories
Categories provide a simple way to classify content. Assign categories to metadata items for consistent, platform-wide taxonomy that powers filtering and discovery across search and collections.
Traits
Traits define how content behaves in workflows. Each trait maps a MIME type to a workflow, so when content of a given type enters the system, Bosca knows which workflow to apply automatically. This ensures consistent processing for different content formats.
Sources
Sources represent external content systems that Bosca can connect to. Each source stores connection details and credentials, allowing you to import and sync content from other platforms while keeping Bosca as your central hub.
Template Attributes
Template attributes define the fields and structure that content of a given template should have. They specify the attribute type (text, number, date, image, file, or references to other content), UI presentation, and optional workflow behaviors. Template attribute tools provide reusable query-based helpers that can populate or validate attribute values.
Time Events
Time events are markers or annotations placed at specific points on a timeline within media content. They are used for adding chapters, markers, or annotations to videos and audio files. The Administration UI includes a visual timeline editor for managing time events.
